The Columbia Valley offers a range of maintained cross country skiing trails for both classic and skate skiers of all skill levels. Toby Creek Nordic Club is an active group offering clinics on a regular basis.
The Edgewater trail system is another set of x-country trails that meander through the higher slopes on the Rockies side of the valley to Baptiste Lake.
Fairmont Resort offers 6 km of groomed trails. Please be sure to bring your own skis because rentals are not available.
Grey Wolf Nordic Centre
The Grey Wolf Nordic Centre offers 20 plus km of groomed trails for classic and skate skiers. The 4 km ski to the Hale Hut makes for a great day in the mountains. For more information call 250-341-4106 or visit Panorama’s website.
Radium Resort maintains a 3 km classic track around the golf course. The trail follows the gentle rolling terrain of the golf course.
The Toby Creek Nordic Club sets tracks on both Lake Windermere, Nipika Resort and Lake Lillian. The Whiteway, on Lake Windermere has a 15 km groomed and set track which is great for both classic and skate skiers. The flat terrain and close proximity to Invermere makes it a great track for beginners. The Lake Lillian track offers a shorter loop at about 3 km and starts from the day use area.
