Rod has been in the retail marketing industry for in excess of 40 years. He has overseen ground up retail locations, chain wide closures, directed provincial divisions of national retailers and successfully ran and expanded his own business. Rod also has experience in the development industry where he directed a large complex in downtown Edmonton.
Having lived in various communities across Canada he has always been actively involved with the Chamber and the DBA. As well as being an active member in Rotary in these cities, he was VP Marketing of the Pan Pac Games in Edmonton, one of the vice chairs of ECTA (Edmonton Tourist and Convention Assoc.) Marketing Chair of Klondike Days Assoc. and was co-chair on the Rotary International world assembly in Calgary (28,000 attendees)
In 2004 Rod and his wife Christine opened Windermere Lakeside B&B.
Rod is a firm believer in becoming involved in every community he has lived in, be it a large metropolis or small center. We live, work and play here, reaping the benefits of the surroundings and the town, so by getting involved, in the total context of things, it is a very small sacrifice to give back in whatever way we can be of service. To become involved (again) in the Chamber is another way that he hopes to lend his encouragement and experience to the goals and objectives of the Columbia Valley Chamber of Commerce.
