Laurie completed her Bachelor of Commerce in 1989, was hired by Procter & Gamble and transferred to Vancouver.
Once in Vancouver, Laurie discovered the joys of outdoor living and after almost 4 years of corporate life, she decided to throw caution to the wind, quit her job and travel. After a summer in the Southern US, she decided it would be fun to try working at a ski hill for the winter. She was driving through the Columbia Valley and saw the sign for Panorama…that was 25 years ago!
Laurie has worked in the three key economic drivers in the valley; ski, real estate and golf.
She worked 8 years with Intrawest in Real Estate Sales and Development and 8 years with Stone Creek Golf Courses (Eagle Ranch) in Golf Course Operations and Development. Over these years, she has owned her own business, All-Ready Home, a home-checking and small construction project management company.
After an entire career in the private sector, Laurie chose to pursue a career that would have meaningful impact in the community. Laurie started with the Columbia Valley Community Foundation in April 2015. She also works at the College of the Rockies; she teaches MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Laurie has served the CVCC Membership since 2016.
